Purchasing Microsoft Office 2010 packages is very
different from previous versions.
The basic packages of Office
is similar to previous versions. What has changed in 2010 is
how you can purchase those packages. Office Home & Business
and Office Professional are now only available in Box Product or
Product Key Card. If you wish to purchase Office Standard or
Office Professional Plus then your only option is to purchase
licensing. In order to purchase licensing you must
purchase a minimum of 5 licenses.

Box Product
Microsoft offers Office
software in the form of Box Product.
Product Key Card
Microsoft has introduced a new
way to purchase OEM product called the Product Key Card.
This can be purchased with new machines only, and is
non-transferrable. The Product Key Card is literally a card
with a product key on it that you can use on pre-loaded software, or
you can download the software.

Licensing
Microsoft licensing is
available to users who wish to purchase 5 or more copies.
Only
Office Standard 2010 or
Office Professional Plus 2010 is available via licensing. When
you purchase a license, you only purchase the right to run the
software. You receive a product key, via email.
Licensing does not come with a CD or DVD. You can purchase a
DVD separately, or you can download the software. A license
also gives you the right to transfer software from machine to
machine.
